On the morning of April 19, 2026,Academician Gheorghe Duca from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, along with Professor Olga Covaliova and Professor Natalia N. Gorincioi of Moldova State University, attended the Mingde Lecture Hall of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and delivered keynote academic lectures. The event was hosted by Vice Dean Songtao Lu of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, together with international students from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the School of Astronautics, took an active part in the activity.
Academician Gheorghe Duca first introduced his research achievements in ecological environmental chemistry and theoretical computational chemistry, as well as the practices of the Chemical Society of the Republic of Moldova in advancing interdisciplinary research and national sustainable development. Professor Olga Covaliova gave a detailed presentation on wastewater treatment in brewing wastewater and photocatalyst material design, and Professor Natalia N. Gorincioi presented on the toxicity and mutagenicity of N-nitrosamines. They also demonstrated relevant theoretical computational methods and experimental progress. After their presentations, participating faculty members and students engaged in in-depth discussions with the three experts.
This Mingde Lecture Hall event provided a platform for faculty members and students of the university to communicate face-to-face with distinguished international scholars. The cutting-edge presentations delivered by the three experts broadened the academic horizons of faculty and students and offered valuable references for subsequent research in related fields. The school will continue to deepen international academic exchanges and cooperation, promote multidisciplinary integration, and further enhance the quality of talent cultivation and scientific research.
