On April 1, 2026, the 4th Bilateral Symposium of the Sino-Russian Joint Research Center for Chemistry, hosted by the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Harbin Institute of Technology, was held at the Mingli Academic Lecture Hall. Professor Songtao Lu, Vice Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Harbin Institute of Technology; Professor Xiaojun Han, Head of the Department of Chemistry; Professor Alina Manshina from the Faculty of Chemistry, Saint Petersburg State University; and faculty representatives from both institutions attended the symposium. The attendees carried out in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge topics in the field of chemistry, and the meeting was co-chaired by Professor Xiaojun Han and Professor Alina Manshina.

Before the meeting, Xiaohong Wu, Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, and Guanghui Liu, Party Secretary of the School, met with the Russian guests. The two sides held cordial discussions and took a group photo. Dean Wu Xiaohong warmly welcomed Professor Alina Manshina and her delegation, and expressed sincere hope that Russian faculty and students would continue to engage in exchange and collaboration with the School. Party Secretary Guanghui Liu noted that he expects both sides to continue to deepen practical cooperation through academic connections. The School will organize a delegation to Russia for exchange visits this September, and through the mutual visit mechanism of school leaders, further promote the achievement of more substantial outcomes in talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation between the two schools.
