On the afternoon of July 13, 2025, the 12th Shenzhou Forum for Elite Young Scholars in Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT): School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Session was successfully held. This event boasted a remarkable lineup of participants. Outstanding young scholars from world - renowned universities and research institutions, such as Tsinghua University, the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). n addition, representatives from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering also actively participated. They included Liu Guanghui (刘光惠), Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; Lou Shuaifeng (娄帅锋), Vice Dean of the School; as well as Professors Chen Guanying (陈冠英), Han Xiaojun (韩晓军), Shao Lu (邵路), Lv Chade (吕查德), Xu Haiping (徐海平), Li Menggang (李蒙刚), and Zhao Yuwei (赵玉伟).The participation was carried out both online and offline. The session was presided over by Vice Dean Lou Shuaifeng.

At the forum, Professor Chen Guanying,in charge of the school's talent recruitment,, provided an overview of the school and introduced the university's talent recruitment policies. Four young scholars separately presented their educational backgrounds, research interests, academic achievements, and future work plans, engaging in in-depth discussions with the attending faculty. The young scholars unanimously expressed that the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering offers broad development prospects, robust support platforms, a vibrant research atmosphere, and an inclusive and open academic environment. They described the school as a warm, people-centered community and expressed great pleasure in taking this forum as an opportunity to engage with HIT and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, exchanging ideas with experts in their respective research fields.

Liu Guanghui noted that the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has long been committed to meeting the national strategic needs in national defense and aerospace. It has actively participated in the regional economic and social development, and has amassed profound expertise and abundant platform resources in technological output and transfer. Building on its strengths in new energy, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality technologies, solid-state batteries, and other priority areas, the school continues to deepen industry-university-research collaboration and innovation. Several key technological breakthroughs have contributed to industrial upgrading, demonstrating strong growth momentum and promising future potential. Currently, the school is in a critical phase of high-quality leap-forward development. By focusing on enhancing key elements of disciplinary strength, it is accelerating interdisciplinary integration and intension development, fully supporting the university’s strategic goal of “striving to rank among the world’s top universities.” There is an urgent need to adopt a more open approach to attract global talent, injecting a continuous source of vitality into the construction of first-class universities and first-class disciplines worldwide.The school will further refine the “master scholar + team” training model. Leveraging high-level platforms such as the State Key Laboratory, the school will focus on fostering innovation teams in fields such as new energy and advanced materials, with particular emphasis on attracting and nurturing leading scientific and technological talents. At the same time, the school will improve the talent service system by providing diverse support, including housing security, research start-up funds, and interdisciplinary collaboration, to remove obstacles for young scholars in pursuing their careers and research breakthroughs.He emphasized that HIT is a cradle for major national projects, and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering offers fertile ground for young scholars to realize their potential.
