On November 21, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering announced the results of the 2025 academician election, and Professor Huang Yudong of our institute was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Yudong Huang, male, born in November 1965, is a member of the Communist Party of China, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, a national-level leading talent, and currently serves as a member of the Chemical Engineering and Technology Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and a member of the 8th Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education (Chemical and Chemical Engineering Division). He has long been engaged in fundamental research, key technologies, and engineering applications in polymer reaction engineering and interfacial chemical engineering, achieving a number of internationally influential achievements in engineering science. As the first completer, he has won two Second Prizes of the National Technological Invention Awards, five First Prizes at the provincial and ministerial-level awards and first-tier academic society awards, and has received honors such as the National Innovation and Advancement Award, “Advanced Individual of the Chang’e-5 Lunar Exploration Mission,” the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, and the Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society. To date, he has published 559 SCI-indexed papers, with 18,472 citations, served as chief editor of two monographs and co-editor of two others, and has been recognized as Highly Cited Chinese Scholar in the Chemical Engineering field by Elsevier for four consecutive years. He has also been granted 288 authorized national invention patents.
